To set up your Coinbase Pro account with Centrol, you will need to get 3 authentication tokens from your Coinbase Pro account.
Passphrase
Your Secret Key
API Token
To create your API Key, log in to your Coinbase Pro account and select the Profile icon on the top right corner of the page. You will find the API menu in the dropdown list of options.
Click on API.
You will now be taken to your Profile Information page, pre-selected to the API Settings tab.
In the API Settings tab, press the + New API Key
along the top right of the window.
The Add An API Key window will now open and you will be asked to:
Portfolio β Select the Portfolio, for most users, this will be set to "Default Portfolio" and will not be alterable.
API key nickname β Create a nickname for the API Key, this can be anything you want to call it. We recommend that you call it Centrol for ease of recollection in the future if you need to get back to the API Settings screen.
Permissions β Select the permissions to be made available to the API. In order for Centrol to work properly, we will need View and Trade permissions to be enabled. We strongly recommend that you do not enable Transfer.
Passphrase β We recommend that you change the Passphrase that is simple to remember and write as this is one of the 3 authentication tokens that you will need for the Centrol Integration. We changed ours to CentrolSignals
IP Whitelist β You can leave this blank.
After you're finished here, press the blue CREATE API KEY
button to continue to the next section.
At this point, Coinbase will need to verify that you are who you say you are.
If you have not yet enabled 2 Factor Authentication on your Coinbase account, click here to see how you can get set up with 2FA on your account.
We strongly recommend that you enable 2 Factor Authentication to keep your account secure.
Once you enter your 2FA code, click ADD AN API KEY
. to get your API Secret Key.
When your API Secret Key will be shown, copy it and record it in a safe place, as it wonβt be shown again.
Click the blue, Done
button to close the window.
Closing the popup will show the API Settings tab once again and you will see the API Token in the API Key container.
Hover over the key that is shown in the API Key container and click on it to copy it.
Now that you have all 3 authentication tokens, open the Centrol Signals app and click on the menu button on the top left corner to open the menu sidebar. Click on Connect a New Broker
.
Click on Coinbase Pro and input all the tokens into their corresponding fields:
When you're finished, press the blue, Integrate
button.
π You are now ready to trade with your Coinbase Pro account in Centrol!
